Stainless Steel 317 Forged Threaded Elbow Fittings is a molybdenum containing, low carbon austenitic stainless steel with increased additions of chromium, nickel, and molybdenum for better corrosion resistance and increased resistance to chemical attack for sulfurous, acetic, formic, citric, and tartaric acids. Stainless Steel 317L Forged Socket Weld Tee is actually a low carbon version of grade 317, and has the same high strength and corrosion resistance as 317 steel but can produce stronger welds due to the low carbon content. SS 317 Forged Threaded Tee Fittings is often used in chemical processing, oil refineries, food processing, paper mills, photographic handling, marine applications and gas scrubbers. Due to the molybdenum content of 3 % - 4 %, Stainless Steel 317L Forged Socket Weld Fittings are more resistant to general corrosion and pitting/crevice corrosion than type 304. SS 317 Forged Threaded Fittings is primarily comprised of 18 % to 20 % chromium and 11 % to 15 % nickel along with trace amounts of carbon, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon and balanced with iron.
